I design and deliver Business Intelligence solutions that scale — from terabyte data marts and ETL pipelines to Power BI dashboards and self-service analytics that drive measurable outcomes.
I’m a Senior Data & Business Intelligence professional based in Jeffersonville, Indiana, with 20+ years of experience delivering enterprise-scale analytics solutions across healthcare, financial services, scientific research, and nonprofit sectors.
My background spans the full Business Intelligence stack: terabyte-scale data marts at Wells Fargo, enterprise reporting architecture at Eurofins Scientific, Azure-hosted SaaS platforms, and KPI systems with direct compliance implications. I’ve served as DBA, ETL architect, and lead Business Intelligence analyst — I understand how every layer fits together.
Excel sits at the center of more Business Intelligence work than most people admit. I’ve used it in some capacity on the vast majority of my projects — data profiling, Power Query pipelines, executive dashboards, Six Sigma reporting, and as a source or destination in ETL workflows. I know when Excel is the right tool and how to make it work hard.
The tools change. The mission doesn’t: help executives and decision-makers understand what’s actually happening in the data — and act with confidence.
From raw schema design to polished executive dashboard — I work across the entire analytics lifecycle.
Full DBA expertise across 20+ years — schema design, stored procedures, query optimization, migrations, backup strategy, and multi-instance administration. Also PostgreSQL, SQL Azure, and Access.
Microsoft Certified Power BI Data Analyst. Delivered self-service dashboards, KPI architectures, and executive drill-down reports across enterprise environments. Deep DAX and report server administration.
Designed and managed hundreds of ETL packages using SSIS, Azure Data Factory, DTS, and Pentaho. Built pipelines integrating SQL Server, Access, XML, REST APIs, Excel, and legacy FoxPro sources.
Azure-certified. Architected and deployed Azure-hosted SaaS applications with SQL Azure, Azure Data Factory, and Azure DevOps. Full SDLC from on-premise development through staged Azure promotion.
Advanced Excel across the full toolset — Power Query, Power Pivot, dynamic dashboards, data profiling, and Six Sigma/Lean reporting. Deep T-SQL and stored procedure expertise, complemented by C# and ASP.NET. Excel is involved in some form on the majority of real-world Business Intelligence engagements.
Agile/Scrum/Kanban via Azure DevOps and TFS. Six Sigma/Lean reporting, ITIL documentation, and full SDLC management. Experienced formal trainer for T-SQL, SQL Server, and Business Intelligence tools.
Independently built work — case studies, analytics systems, and client-ready services that show how I think and what I deliver.
Most Cyclistic capstone submissions confirm what was expected before the analysis started. This one found things the data actually contained. Working with 12 months of real Divvy trip data, the analysis was implemented in five tools—Power BI, SQL Server + SSIS, DuckDB, R, and Python—with every result cross-validated. Cross-validation surfaced a DAX vs. SQL semantic difference, an e-bike hardware inference from data structure alone, and a measurable commuter sub-segment of casual riders no other submission has identified.
End-to-end Business Intelligence system for a 45-bed sober living / recovery residence — SQL Server OLTP schema (15+ tables), star schema data warehouse (9 dims, 8 facts), behavior-driven Python data generator, and a 14-page Power BI dashboard. Features an Early Warning risk-scoring system, master roster, rent & arrears, demographics, referrals, donations, funding, behavioral incidents, bed utilization, program outcomes, and per-resident drillthrough. Data warehouse deployed to Azure SQL Database (Serverless Gen5). 50+ DAX measures, PBIP/TMDL version control, one-command rebuild script.
A career built across financial services, scientific research, healthcare, and manufacturing — always at the intersection of data and decisions.
Architected and deployed multiple Azure-hosted SaaS applications, building the complete data layer from SQL Server and SSIS through Power BI and SSRS. Managed the full SDLC independently using Azure DevOps. Stress-tested systems simulating terabyte-scale databases to ensure millisecond response targets.
Designed and deployed stored procedures and database objects across multiple SQL Server instances to streamline healthcare claim processing and enterprise-wide reporting. Administered SSRS and Power BI servers; collaborated with distributed teams including government entities. Held Interim National Security Clearance.
Analyzed bankruptcy and legal client data using SQL Server, SSIS, and Microsoft Access. Migrated legacy FoxPro data and queries to SQL Server, improving data integrity and query performance across legal services workflows.
Built a new enterprise reporting architecture — replacing ad-hoc Excel with SSRS and Tableau backed by a BI-optimized SQL Server database, adopted company-wide. Designed SSIS processes to consolidate data from multiple companies and CRM systems into a unified data mart.
DBA for 13 SQL Server instances across multiple locations — backup strategies and SQL Server 2000/2005/2008 → 2012 migrations. Managed hundreds of ETL packages moving data between Ohio, Tennessee, and Tokyo. Built compliance reporting for radioactive equipment monitoring.
Developed KPI architecture for legal and regulatory reporting — Welcome Letters, Fair Debt Letters, Wire Transfers — directly tied to compliance obligations. Co-led the full rebuild of Servicing Acquisitions following the WaMu acquisition. Contributed to a terabyte-scale data mart. Received two Team Excellence Awards. Delivered formal training in T-SQL, SQL Server, Business Objects, and Crystal Reports.
Interested in organizations where data-driven decisions actually matter — healthcare, finance, nonprofits, and anywhere leadership is serious about using data to run the business better.
